Newport Beach Boat Parade
During the 111th Annual Newport Beach Boat Parade, Newport Harbor comes alive with holiday decor! Homes, yachts, docks, whole landscapes are transformed into a magical holiday experience. Newport Bay begins its holiday decorations after Thanksgiving and by the first of December Newport Harbor is illuminated with millions of lights and hundreds of themed estates and ships.
The Newport Beach Boat Parade takes place over five nights in December with three nightly departures. Hundreds of yachts, cruise ships, and water craft of all kinds participate in the parade. The parade will travel miles of waterfront estates during each evening viewing both estates and ships in full holiday décor. The Newport Beach Boat Parade is “One of the top 10 holiday happenings in the nation” according to the New York Times.
The Newport Beach Boat Parade takes place over 5 nights and has a Grand Marshal for each night. Here is the line up for the 2019 Newport Beach Boat Parade:
Wednesday December 18, Opening Night with Fireworks, Grand Marshal – Christina Anstead, star of HGTV’s “Christina on the Coast” and “Flip or Flop”
Thursday December 19, Grand Marshals – Business Person of the Year Jim Walker and Citizen of the Year Nancy Gardner, recognizing two of Newport Beach’s finest examples of involvement and leadership.
Friday December 20, Grand Marshals – The Young Americans, founded in 1962, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of understanding and goodwill among people throughout the world. Dubbed as America’s Musical Ambassadors, The Young Americans use the power of music, dance, performance, academics, and cultural interaction to foster their mission.
Saturday December 21, Grand Marshals – A Salute to Hometown Heroes, this year’s hometown heroes include Newport Beach Police Officer of the Year – John Miller and Newport Beach Police Chief Jon Lewis; Firefighter of the Year, Bobby Salerno; Lifeguard Supervisor of the Year, Adam Yacenda; Seasonal Lifeguard of the Year, Carly Christian and Civilian of the Year Raymi Wun.
Sunday December 22, Closing Night with Fireworks, Grand Marshals – Corona del Mar High School Drum Line accompanied by Stan Frazier of the band Sugar Ray.
